Residents oftentimes will come to work not feeling well, but will push themselves through the day. They may even ask another resident to write a prescription for their symptoms.
This practice is not only inappropriate, it is against the law. No physician should be writing a prescription for anyone for whom he/she has not established a medical record.
In order to support the well-being of our housestaff, this Housestaff Urgent Care Program has been established. You will be able to see a professional practitioner right here at the UF Health Science Center .
This program is specifically set up for Housestaff (does not include spouse or children). It is a mechanism for you to be able to have your minor illness treated quickly. The program takes place in the HealthScienceCenter and is convenient to our every day activities.
