There are several opportunities for housestaff to complete their certifications and recertifications in BLS, ACLS, PALS and NALS. Below are some resources:
Shands – Shands Cardiopulmonary Services offers BLS, ACLS, and PALS training. They have ongoing pre-scheduled classes as well as the ability to set up and offer classes for groups.
For Group Scheduling:
- BLS requires a minimum of 4 people. Charge is $50.00 per person.
- ACLS and PALS requires a minimum of 5 people. Charge is $100 per person.
- Combination of BLS and ACLS or PALS class cost $120 (savings of $30 per person)
- Individual cost for ACLS or PALS is $120.
Books are not supplied since they can be purchased at the bookstore or online. Departments can also purchase them and maintain them in a library for future use by staff.
