March 30th every year is celebrated as Doctor’s Day. Shands @ UF sponsors many celebration acticities. This year, a talent showcase featuring our doctors was held in the Atrium. Check out the excerpt of these fine and talented docs:
Cathy DeWitt, “musician in residence” at Shands@UF Arts in Medicine program helped host the two hour program which featured jazz, classical and vocal artists.
Participating in the program were:
William Donnelly, MD – Pathology, vocals; Ron Shorr, MD – Geriatric Medicine, electric guitar; Michael Mahla, MD, – Anesthesiology/Neurosurgery, Piano; Everett Petersen, MD – Anesthesiology, violin; Stephen Hsu, MD, PhD – Medicine/Nephrology, composer/conductor’; Li-Ming Su, MD – Urology, violin; William Slayton, MD – Pediatrics, viola; Rathika Nimalendran, Liberal Arts – Viola; Nicholas Simpson, PhD – Medicine/Endocrinology, trombone.
We plan to make this an annual event and hope this year’s event inspired other physicians to dig out and dust off their old instruments and start playing again!
