Residency Programs

Our program’s overarching purpose is to develop in our resident graduates the knowledge and skills to be recognized as outstanding clinical anesthesiologists, while also sustaining an environment that stimulates investigative clinical curiosity to advance our field.

Our program’s goal is to discover new knowledge, to refine understanding of clinical and basic neuroscience and apply these insights to improve the health and well being of children and their families, while instilling the spirits of inquiry, compassion, and service into the future generation of clinician scientists training in the practice of child neurology.

The University of Florida Community Health and Family Medicine Residency Program endeavors to train family medicine physicians who are committed to striving for excellence, providing high-quality, ethical, humanistic and cost-effective care to diverse populations across the age spectrum and leading others in practicing innovative patient centered care.

The three year Dermatology Residency Training Program is designed to give residents the scope and breadth of clinical training to make them experts in skin disease. They will acquire the medical and surgical skills required to diagnose and treat patients with dermatologic disorders. Clinical rotations are correlated with conferences and lectures to enhance the learning experience.

The mission of the UF Emergency Medicine Residency is to create a vigorous and comprehensive training experience in Emergency Medicine, leveraging UF Health’s significant acuity and designation as a regional Chest Pain, Stroke, Burn, and Level I Trauma regional receiving center.

The mission of the UF Medicine Residency program is to train residents to be compassionate, dedicated, and well-rounded internists by balancing academic rigor and clinical diversity with a supportive, inclusive, and collegial learning environment.

At the University of Florida Department of Neurosurgery our goal is to deliver Excellence in Patient Care, Excellence in Resident Education, and Excellence in Research.

The mission of our residency is to train compassionate and well-rounded neurologists who exhibit strengths in clinical care, professionalism, research, and the education of future generations. Our program strives to improve the lives of Obstetrics & Gynecology patients on a local and global scale by training women’s health physicians that are dedicated to lifelong scholarship, advocacy, leadership, and the practice of evidence-based, equitable, patient-centered care.

The University Of Florida Department Of Ophthalmology’s mission is three-fold. First, we seek to provide quality health care to every patient who comes to this hospital for eye care. Second, it is a departmental goal to pursue research in the field of ophthalmology. Third, our department educates residents in the field of ophthalmology so that by the time of graduation, each individual is capable of providing high quality, compassionate, and ethical care to patients who come to them with their ophthalmologic problems.

The purpose of the residency and fellowship programs in Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Florida is to educate and train qualified individuals to practice Orthopaedic Surgery of the highest quality in patient care, research and quality improvement.

Our mission is to prepare our graduates with comprehensive training in both the medical and surgical aspects of Otolaryngology, who are prepared to enter their professional careers and meet the challenges and opportunities of the modern health care environment in both the academic and community settings.

Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery is a surgical specialty which involves the diagnosis and treatment of diseases, injuries, and defects involving both the functional and aesthetic aspects of the hard and soft tissues of the head and neck region. The scope of the specialty is very broad, ranging from the extraction of teeth to the treatment of complex facial fractures.

The Department of Pathology, Immunology, & Laboratory Medicine aligns its mission and goals with the University of Florida College of Medicine. The College of Medicine strives to improve health care in Florida, our nation, and the world through excellence and consistently superior leadership in education, clinical care, discovery, and service.

The overall mission of the University of Florida Pediatric Residency Program is to develop and train highly competent, compassionate, confident, and professional pediatricians through innovative methods with individualized delivery in preparation for diverse career paths. 

The key missions of the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation is to train and develop physiatrists who will be the essential medical experts in value-based evaluation, diagnosis, and management of neuromusculoskeletal and disabling conditions and serve as indispensable leaders in directing rehabilitation and recovery, and in preventing injury and disease to the underserved.

The Division of Plastic Surgery aims to train residents and fellows who provide timely, efficient, and compassionate patient care, who are adept and adaptable in Plastic Surgery surgical technique, and produce innovative scientific research that improves patient outcomes.

Our program’s mission is to develop psychiatrist leaders, scholars, and clinician-educators who are compassionate, provide the safest mental health and addiction care, and are ready for any career opportunity and challenge.

Through high quality teaching, cutting edge research and compassionate care provided to the patients in the Gainesville community and surrounding referral areas, our program aims to train radiation oncologists who excel in clinical skills, have a strong research foundation, and continue to contribute to the field of radiation oncology wherever they choose to practice.

The primary mission of our Residency Program is to provide an excellent and supportive environment for the training of our future colleagues in Radiology. 

Our goal is to train clinically excellent, broadly trained general surgeons for the state of Florida, with the academic skills to either obtain a faculty position in academic medicine or highly competitive fellowship training after completion of our program.

Our mission is to educate well-rounded, clinically excellent and technically skilled cardiac and thoracic surgeons through commitment to education, scholarship, diversity, inclusion, and safe, high quality patient care.
